About the Handbook
From Jan 09, The Canterbury Handbook will be a A5 quarterly, full colour publication that is delivered to 15,000 homes and businesses in and around Canterbury – 5000 at the beginning of the first month and 5000 at the start of the second month and a further 5000 at the beginning of the thrid month. 500 each month are left at Pick-up Points (see here or the inside cover of the Handbook) the rest are delivered to the less student areas of Canterbury and some outlying villages (Chartham, Bridge, Bekesbourne, Blean, Littlebourne, Sturry, Fordwich and more).

The Handbook has a Free Listings pull-out section in the middle, so if you have an event to advertise please let us know.
The same goes for the Clubs and Societies page.

N.B. Before January 2009, the Handbook was a bimonthly publication - so now readers will receive their copies once every three months instead of once every two months. HOWEVER.... an extra 5000 people will get a copy...15 000 instead of 10 000!

 

Advertising with us

You can advertise for one edition, two editions (and get 10% off) or for 6 editions (a whole year) and get 20% off. For the latter offers you will be asked to set up a standing order so you pay monthly over the period.

SPECIAL OFFER – for the next edition - If you choose to advertise with us for a year – you will not only get the 20% reduction but you can cancel after 4 months. The Handbook is not VAT registered so the cost to you can be from as little as £12 per month!!

 

*Also - There are other Handbooks in the area – Hythe, Folkestone, Deal and The Marsh.. and if you want to advertise in more than one then you get yet another 10% reduction (see the table)

 

The Practicalities

Do you already have a print-ready ad? – great! Here are the dimensions we need:

All images should be 300dpi and in CMYK colour format

JPEG, Quark or PDF pleaseIf you don’t yet have an image for your ad, we can create one for FREE. All we need is the text and an idea of the design you’d like. You ok the final design of course. We'll need a bit more time for this service so don't wait until the last moment!

 

Deadlines

Booking deadline – the Friday 3 weeks before delivery (first Sat of the month). Booking means confirming the details of your ad and paying for at least the first month by cheque or cash. (sorry no card facilities yet.)

Copy deadline – the Friday 2 weeks before delivery. Your ad needs to be ready and with us by now!

 

Leaflets – We offer the service of delivering your leaflets with the Handbook.
The rate is £35 per 1000
